 At Apple's World Wide Developers Conference in California last week the company announced it will be bringing Apple Intelligence to its platform in beta this Fall. Apple Intelligence is touted as A.I. for the rest of us. It will work only on Apple Silicon devices. How does it compare to things like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT? Apple Intelligence queries get processed on your device and not in the Cloud. Your info is not sent to Apple (or anyone else). And it will be built in to the operating system at no extra charge! (Meanwhile, Microsoft Copilot for 365 is $440 CAD / user / year). I can't wait for the Autumn to try it out.

Precursor founder Alex Narvey will once again be a presenter at this year's 10th anniversary edition of the MacDevOps YVR Conference (June 19-21). Alex has presented at the last six MacDevOps conferences. This year's 5 minute QuickTalk will be about his 30 years at a solo macOS Consultant. In addition to presenting at MacDevOps YVR, Alex has previously presented at the ACES Conference, at MacTech LA and at MacAD.uk in London.
Trimble has announced SketchUp 2024. A new graphics engine shows an average eight times increase in frames per second rendered. Trimble says you can unlock more realistic visuals directly in SketchUp and elevate your models by adding depth in-app. Ambient Occlusion helps you find a visual balance between too simple and too realistic.
Apple has a new revamped its online documentation site. We now have a central place to go to for specs, manuals, user guides and even repair manuals. (Yes! I said Repair Manuals). The macOS and iOS User Guides are particularly handy. There is so much to know these days!
